ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All Board Members have an equal voice in the planning and operation of the BHCC.   The list below summarizes the roles and responsibilities of each Board Member.

PRESIDENT – Gord Miles

  • Overall planning and direction

  • Chair Board meetings

  • Represent BHCC with BHRSO

  • Represent BHCC at New Phase Board Meetings

  • Handle complaints with help from Board Members

  • Signing Officer for BHCC bank account

Liaison for:

BHCC Presidents’ Council

BH Property Management Groups

 

VICE PRESIDENT – Joe Galinauskas

  • Assist with and/or assume the duties of the President in his/her absence or inability to perform the duties

  • Assist Board Directors as needed

  • Represent BHCC with BHRSO

  • Oversee new Security System implementation

  • Supervise Office Staff

  • Signing Officer for BHCC bank account

Liaison for:

BHCC Presidents’ Council

Landscape Committee

BH Property Management Groups

 

TREASURER – Ruby Thomas

  • Financial planning and reporting and banking

  • Liaise with BHRSO on financial matters

  • Insurance

  • Maintain/oversee inventory for insurance purposes

  • Registration of Board with the Government

  • Signing Officer for BHCC bank account

Social Committee

Concert Series

Associates, with Program Director

  

SECRETARY – Deb Jestin

  • Agendas/Minutes of Board Meetings

  • Minutes of Associates and Resident’s Meetings

  • Ensures records, correspondence and contracts are provided to the BHCC office

  • Website management

DIRECTOR, PROGRAMS – Margaret Mitchell

  • Point of contact for all Activities and Events

  • Event Planning

Singles Social Club

BHCC Lobby Artwork Display

 

DIRECTOR, MAINTENANCE – Gary Keffer

  • Fire Inspections

  • Fire Safety Plan and Procedure

  • Maintain Building Security

  • Ensure general cleanliness and repair of building

  • Manage/supervise Cleaning Contractors

Liaison for:

Kitchen Committee

 

DIRECTOR, AUDIO/VISUAL – Peter Krol

  • Review systems to ensure optimal performance

  • Assist residents with A/V needs for functions

  • Recommend upgrades and improvements

  • Assist VP with Landscape Committee

Liaison for:

Seasonal Decorating Committee

 

DIRECTOR AT LARGE – Helen Sinclair

  • Assist Maintenance Director with Fire Safety Plan and Procedure

  • Assist Program Director with Associates and Library

  • Assist Maintenance Director with Kitchen Committee
